Vicar's View
April 2008
If you’ve ever been inside St. Luke’s Hospital, you know it can be a confusing place to get around. Just down the hall from the
Spiritual Care Office, we have a large picture of Jesus Christ, and around the corner there’s a bank of four elevators (two that
face east and two that face west). To make things more confusing, there’s another hallway off of those elevators that leads to
the lunchroom. Every time I get off those elevators, I don’t know which way to turn, left or right.
What saves me every time is the large picture of Christ. He is my compass that helps orient myself to where I am. I know if I go
towards him, I am going down the correct hallway, I'm heading in the right direction. I think that's true for all of us in life,
too. Jesus is my guide to getting around the hospital both spiritually and literally. I pray that wherever you are you let him
guide you too. Peace be with you.
