Spiritual Emphasis
This section of the site is dedicated to ensuring that we share information that grounds us in the proper perspective of
the "Growing to and for Christ" campaign. Our aim is to emphasize spiritual growth, growth in our ministries to God's people
and our community, not merely a larger building. In this section you will find brief devotionals, suggested Bible studies,
and prayers related to the spiritual emphasis of this campaign
Devotion for Thought
Each one must give as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
-- 2 Corinthians 9:7 (ESV)
I believe there are two important sides to this verse as it regards our "Growing to and for Christ" campaign. First, for each of us
that will give to the campaign, we must do so cheerfully. God isn't concerned with the amount given, but He loves to see the cheer
in giving. We should give what we can, but do so with a right heart. Second, none of us should judge the giving of others. Since God
does not want giving to be done under compulsion, any suggestion that more is expected is contrary to God's word. Instead of judgment
we should share our encouragement and hopes - our stories. What makes us cheerful in our giving? Why is this campaign important to us?
But in the end, each "must give as he has made up his mind."

Lord, you alone know what is in the heart of each of us. Help us to be cheerful givers. Remind us that this campaign is about growth
"to and for" you. It's about your ministries done in this place and throughout the communities that we serve. As we focus on you, we will
surely not give reluctantly. In Jesus name. Amen.
